Volunteers
Our Volunteers have a vital role in contributing to our important work. They are integral to the health care team, making an invaluable contribution to the quality of life of those in our care and proving that maxim, individuals can make a difference.
Across Hope Healthcare we pride ourselves on the levels of care we are able to provide, but without the assistance of our Volunteers, those in our care would be all the poorer in the absence of the help, reassurance, support and love provided.
Their assistance extends beyond the patient to include family and friends.
Our Volunteers undergo a selection process and an extensive initial training program. Ongoing education and training is provided along with regular support meetings and one-on-one supervision. They typically specialise in areas suiting their skills and attributes.
Volunteers do many things that improve the quality of life of those in our care. They provide respite care, take patients for a drive or for appointments or they may simply offer love and companionship and sit with someone in need of comfort and support. We even have Volunteer dogs!
